The technologies used in the television and film industries are improving every day, with inventions that are so complicated are coming to life, and definition coming to reality. In the television and film industries every director or producers want their hands on the latest gadgets and inventions, as everything now on TV or on film seems more realistic then it does it real life. Below are some developing technologies;

-  Satellite

A satellite is based in space, which is orbits around the area, the satellite is very powerful as it signals a powerful beam to television users below, such as mobile users for calling and texting and also TV programmes which collects and gathers communication and information. Satellite is amongst most obligations that we use in everyday life, such as Broadband satellite, satellite cable, satellite dish, satellite TV.

- Satellite Broadband

The ADSL (Asymmetric Digital subscriber Line) uses the satellite to have a permanent connection with the internet, for example Talk Talk broadband connection box at home is always connected as the ADSL has the strong signal to catch from the satellite in space through the internet, which leaves a broad band connection to users at home.

- Satellite Cable

Satellite cables are used to connect the satellite to either the TV or the satellite dish outside, the satellite cable receives forms of external signals either to the TV or free-view box, which then allows you to connect and watch the channels connected through this method of connection. The TV is either connected through a direct - broadband satellite, either through a analogue or digital. The difference between analogue and digital is analogue is connected a typical signal, such as connecting to radio stations as FM or AM radio, where as the digital Signals are traced through DAB Radio (Digital Audio Broadcast). Such examples of satellite cable is

- Interactive TV

Interactive television or also known as ITV or ITV is another form of media added to the television technology, for example ITV splitting their stories into different section, such as weather, sport, news headlines and so forth and also making you interact with your TV. The advantages for an interactive TV is to also use the remote to access free products offers on TV, also set program reminders, change to an interactive feature that you wish to watch and listen to instead of waiting for a certain program at a certain time.  Interactive television has improved and now gives the ability to buy something such as a take away without dialling the phone number, also pausing TV programmes and records shows whilst outside and lastly clicking on advertisements to see further information.

- High Definition
High definition consists in several different categories, starting from, (high-definition television HDTV, high definition video HDTV, high definition multimedia interface HDMI, Blue-ray, high definition sound effects, high definition audio, DVD audio hiDef)
The high definition ranges from many different screen and quality resolution, starting from 1080p to 720p which is different ranges of standard to high quality definition television. - Consumer Products
Consumer products such as Warner bros, give permission and license the right names to some entertainment films and televisions in the Warner bros property, this are such examples like Batman, superman, super girls, Scooby-Doo and so forth. Warner bros consumer products authorize the license to retail partnership for Warner bros, where it is placed in Thailand and Greece, where they have different high quality films and TV shows ranging from children to adults appearances. In the consumer products there are overall 3,700 licences worldwide, which operate similar to the Warner Bros and also provide licences to other film and television shows. Another example of Consumer Products is ITV, where they also have their own programmes such as Come dine with me, Hell’s Kitchen, Coronation Street, which allow these programmes to stream and be shown on ITV which includes the licence.

- Streaming Content
Streaming Content is a certain video film or audio file that is downloading from the internet but being played as the file is still remaining to be downloaded, such a live streaming on the internet whilst downloading it as well. For example, the film is viewed live instead of waiting for it to download and then later can be watched, the streaming content allows us to have immediate access to something which does not need a 100% download content. Referring back to the immediate access id dependent to the connection which you hold as a user, if the connection is fast then the streaming will live feed fast feedback but where as having a slow connection would equal a slow live feed.  Streaming videos is often sent from pre-recorded video files or can also be added to live broad cast feeds, the way the live feedback is given is through a video signal which is converted into a compressed digital signal, transmitted through a web server which is lastly multiplied to different users at the same time whilst the live broad cast is running.

- On-demand viewing
VOD (Video on Demand) or On-Demand viewing are videos or audios that allow you to listen and watch through the technology of demand to personal computers or televisions, such On-demand viewings are BBC iPlayer, as they also have a on demand button and channel to watch your favourite shows. The way the on demand viewing is set up is by a set-up box, which allows other channels or programmes to run in the current live time, or downloading it whilst streaming it live. The VOD allows you to browse different videos or programmes to suit your expectation with different menus and available choices, these ranges from sports, entertainment, educational programmes and so forth, which allows children and adult to watch with restriction content on some programmes which parental guidance is needed to watch.

- Digital Recorders
Digital Recorders or Digital Video Recorders (DVR) uses hard drives instead of a video tape, which then allows the video recorder to save onto the hard drive and also play back on television. Furthermore, a DVR can also pause whilst recording, for example pausing on live TV in real life time, which then allows the user to fast forward after the commercial and then return to the live television show. Another example for the DVR is searching for programmes through the TV channel list and choose the programs they wish to record., after recordings the DVR can save shows in a list so users can access and watch when every they want to because the hard drive its self stores all the channels capacity.
Another example for a Digital Recorder is the TiVo, it also performs the same way as a DVR where a TiVo does not need a cable or satellite TV but a rental fee monthly to have your favourite programmes on the box instead of recording it all the time on the DVR box.

The way it is done is by ordering it and watching it at the same time, which is similar to VOD (Video on demand) system, the way the customer can purchase this is through the on-screen guide or an automated telephone system and last live customer service, this is mostly done and used with films, sports and entertainment.  With movies they will add a trailer for customers to see and then decide to buy, In the USA they have Par per View with their sports and entertainment guide,
